You shouldn't have to file a request to find out what council decided, or why.
Three commitments:
- Plain-language summaries after every meeting
- Real notice before major votes
- Conflicts declared in public
Because I'm a Realtor, I'll tell you when I have a conflict and step out of the room. You should expect that from everyone at the table.
Public data, no FOI needed
Accommodation tax remittances and licensing status shouldn't need a Freedom of Information request. If it affects how you plan, publish it, and make it standard city reporting.
